Breakfast on the Beach

A great breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day – it gives you the energy needed to get through even the most challenging of days. Cocoa Beach is home to great beaches, and many people start their days early to catch waves, fish, or start their daily commutes. Here are eight local restaurants open early to start your day right.

Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar in Port Canaveral now serves breakfast from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. Enjoy a delicious breakfast from their diverse menu while drinking a mimosa. Relax inside or sit outside on their deck and watch the boats and cruise ships travel through the harbor.

Southern Charm Cafe is located at 8501 Astronaut Blvd. in Cape Canaveral. They opened around February, and have been receiving great reviews. Their take on Southern cuisine and hospitality has people returning for more. They open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 2:30 p.m. every day.

Sunrise Diner is on 520 next to the Banana River on the Cocoa Beach Causeway. Family owned, the restaurant is a classic diner experience with great American, Italian, and Greek food. Open for years, locals can recall years of enjoying breakfast at this restaurant that many would call a Cocoa Beach landmark. They open at 6 a.m. every morning.

A hidden treasure, Salt Restaurant and Lounge is inside the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront. The restaurant is open to the public and starts serving breakfast 6:30 a.m. until 11 am. They have a breakfast bar where you can help yourself along with a full breakfast menu.

Barrier Jacks is right across from the statue of Kelly Slater where the road splits in Cocoa Beach. A cozy, pirate themed restaurant that offers breakfast, Tex-Mex, and a variety of burgers. Open at 7 a.m., Barrier Jacks is a popular place for people to meet for breakfast. Enjoy breakfast inside their cute dining room or out on the patio.

Simply Delicious Cafe & Bakery opens at 8 a.m., and it is usual to see people waiting to enjoy the charming atmosphere and fantastic food. Their name says it all. The bakery includes many tasty treats you can take home. Their classic menu of breakfast and sandwiches will delight your tastebuds.

Juice N Java Cafe is a quintessential Cocoa Beach breakfast spot. They have a large variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies. Their breakfast burritos or bagel sandwiches are popular items along with the rest of their breakfast menu. Located in the heart of Downtown Cocoa Beach, Juice N Java Cafe opens at 6 a.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. on Saturdays, and 7:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Roberto’s Little Havana is a family-owned-and-operated restaurant that has been in business since 1980. They used to be in a smaller location and have grown into the loved institution situated off of Orlando Avenue near Minutemen Causeway. They are a local favorite that specialize in authentic Cuban food and serve a fantastic American breakfast starting at 7 a.m.

    Barrier Jack’s has the best breakfasts we have had anywhere and are dog friendly on their patio.
